2010 Last Friday - July 30th

Be sure to put the Last Friday Gathering at CLR on your calendars. This year it will be on July 30th with times to be announced but generally just show up... Food will be provided and you are encouraged to bring a friend, old staff member and your family including kids.... Watch for the next newsletter, this website and the facebook group for updates.

Staff Week Alumni Day June 17, 2010....
All staff alumni are welcome and encouraged to head down to camp to lend a hand to the 2010 staff getting camp ready for scouts. Not only could you find yourself in one of the more prestigious training sessions but you could have the opportunity to get down and dirty on one of the numerous camp-wide and area projects that will be going on. Be sure to stop in at the ad building and let someone know you are there. Alumni are a great source for program areas to gather ideas and learn some skills that might be considered Old Skool...

For some of you old guys out there, Jon Morgan has returned as the 2010 Camp Director and from the sound of things it’s going to be another great year out there. Stop on down and check out the new dinning hall and lend a hand with the staff... It’s a great way to give back...

Change House Workday

The work day on Tuesday went great. We built the two stalls w/benches on the other side, enclosed the ends of the center cement block wall with wood and spray foamed the holes so that the wasps cannot build nests in there as easily as before. We added some hooks to the outside walls. We also hung a 1x6 board on the cement block wall that the staff can use
the two packs of hooks we left for them or hang a white board, posters or use it however they want. I hope to make it back down soon to build the bench along the back wall. If anyone can go down on or before Monday or Tuesday of Staff week, there is some painting that needs to be done.
Specifically, one panel on the exterior back wall is a priority, the stalls and wall endcaps all need paint. I was going to paint into the night, but it began to rain and I needed to clean up. The ranger has the paint, all you need is a couple brushes.

I would like to thank the following people that helped out: Jacob Bignel, Kyle Speigel, James Young and Brian Dalton. Without your help, I doubt that I could have got as much done by myself.
